One afternoon in September we received notice that cPanel is raising its prices again from 1 January 2024.
This increase is the 4th or 5th in a row (we have lost count by now) since the company was acquired by WebPros and the Fund behind it.
Below is cPanel's announcement in the original English text, next to the translation we published for our Greek readers.
New Prices for your cPanel Licenses from January 1st, 2024
Dear #customer_name,
We are contacting you today to notify you of a pricing adjustment that will affect your existing account, subscriptions, or services.
We realize that any price change directly influences your business, so we aim to provide transparency as soon as possible. There is no action you need to take at this time. The pricing adjustment will be applied automatically for existing licenses on January 1st, 2024 and for new orders starting December 16th, 2023.

As we continue to deliver on our commitment to be the hosting management platform of choice, we have expanded our products, features, and services to encompass:

Compared with previous increases, this one is the smallest. Still, it is yet another increase for yet another year.
If these increases stay as they are and do not rise further, Konet will not adjust the prices of its existing plans. We will, however, adjust prices for new purchases of Solo licenses.
Alternative Control Panels
There are many alternative Hosting Control Panels that are cheaper than cPanel.
Unfortunately, however, none of them has all the features that made cPanel the first choice worldwide.
In stability, security, features, support, user-friendly interface, ease of use, process automation, documentation and other factors, it is clear that cPanel has no rival at the moment. That is the truth.
The next best solution, which is not the well-known Control Panel used in Greece, is 2 years behind cPanel's current level.
We truly hope that competitors will emerge who can shake the monopoly cPanel has created, for the good of the global Web Hosting market.
We are ready to support any new effort that offers the qualities mentioned above and does not see customers as Cash Cows.
Until then, though, we will keep using cPanel's solution because, quite simply, it is the best choice worldwide.
