Payment Automation at Konet, Saved Cards, Credits and Auto-Renewal

Konet · · 5 min read

Here you will find Konet's payment automation in one place, together with the payment methods that support it. When you pay for a service, you want two things. You want it to be easy and you want it to be secure. Right after that, you want to forget about it until the next renewal. That is what we aim for at Konet, and it is why we keep reviewing the payment methods we offer and the automation that runs behind them.

Every payment method we keep has to cover three things. It has to be secure, it has to automate as much as possible, and it must not add extra cost for you. When a method no longer covers them, we prefer to retire it, even if we have used it for years.

Payment methods

When you complete your order, you choose the method that suits you. Depending on the case, you can use:

  • Debit or credit card for a one-off payment. You pay in the bank's secure environment, ideal for settling an invoice, registering a domain or buying a service.
  • Card for recurring payments. You save your card once and your renewals are paid automatically, without entering your details again.
  • Instant payment from your bank. You scan a QR code with your banking app and the payment is completed without a card.
  • Digital wallet on your phone. You pay from your phone, tablet or computer with a single tap or face recognition.
  • Bank deposit or transfer. You deposit the exact amount to our accounts at four Greek banks. We record it as soon as we spot the amount, so don't leave it for the day a domain expires.
  • Account balance (credits). You add funds to your account and your invoices are paid from there, without lots of small transactions.

You will find the full details of each method, including our bank accounts, on the payment methods page. And one thing that is a principle for us. We add no surcharge at checkout based on the method you choose. We don't want to pass transaction costs on to our customers.

Automation that saves you time

A payment doesn't end when the money leaves your account. Behind it there is an order, an activation, an email and an invoice. Much of this used to go through human hands. Today it happens on its own, which means you don't wait for anyone.

Activation right after payment

As soon as an online payment is confirmed, your order is completed, the service is registered, activated or renewed, you receive a confirmation email and the paid invoice is issued. No manual intervention and no delay.

Saved card and auto-renewal

You save your card once, set it as the default and turn on auto-renewal for the services and domains you want. From then on, your invoices are paid on their own and your services are never interrupted. These are two separate settings and you need both, as we explain in the guide on saving a card for automatic payment. Exactly when the invoice is issued and when the renewal runs is covered in how auto-renewal works.

Credits that pay on their own

If you'd rather not save a card, credits are the alternative. When you have an available balance, it is applied automatically to new invoices as they are issued. This works especially well if you have many domains and services, or if you are a reseller. You can see how to add funds in the guide on account credits.

One notification instead of dozens

Instead of one email for every domain or service nearing expiry, you can receive a single organized email with all your renewals, sorted by priority, every week, every two weeks or every month. The setting is free and optional, and we explain how to turn it on in the article on smart renewal notifications.

Electronic invoices, automatically

Invoices are issued and sent automatically through a certified e-invoicing provider and transmitted directly to myDATA, the Greek tax authority's platform. You receive them by email with a link and can view them whenever you like.

Security in every transaction

The security of your financial data is an absolute priority for us, and the answer is simple. We keep no card data at all. No number, no expiry date, no security code.

When you pay by card or by instant payment, the transaction takes place either in the bank's secure environment or through a direct connection to the payment provider, and we only learn whether it succeeded or not. When you save a card for automatic payments, its details are stored with the payment provider and we keep only an encrypted identifier, a token, which allows the charge without us knowing the card number. On top of all that, every online transaction is also checked by an anti-fraud system.

We ask one thing of you too. Always watch out for fake payment forms that imitate the real ones. If something looks odd, ask us before you pay.

Less time on payments, more time for your work

We want you to focus on your website and your business, not on invoices and reminders. That is why we keep automating everything that can happen without you, always with security first. If you have a question about a payment, open a ticket from the Client Area and we'll look into it right away.

Thank you for your trust.
