We have completed the installation of PHP 8.5 on all our servers. PHP 8.5 was officially released on November 20, 2025. It follows PHP 8.4, which remains available on all our servers.
Why we recommend Alt-PHP
At the same time, we recommend using Alt-PHP via CloudLinux PHP Selector, where available. Alt-PHP is provided by CloudLinux, with versions that are often hardened and patched, and it gives you easier control over PHP extensions per account.
You will find the differences between ea-php and alt-php explained in detail in the guide cPanel MultiPHP Manager and CloudLinux PHP Selector.
How to enable PHP 8.5
The recommended method is through Alt-PHP.
- Log in to cPanel.
- Open Select PHP Version (PHP Selector).
- Select PHP 8.5 for your account.
If you need help confirming your website's compatibility, open a ticket from the Client Area and we will guide you right away.
