At Konet, our effort to keep our customers properly informed about the challenges of the internet is ongoing. In this context, we would like to draw your attention to how to deal with the spam that may reach your Mailbox.
Unwanted emails (spam) are nothing new. They have been around since the ’90s and the first steps of the internet. Over the years, however, unwanted emails have evolved, changed and grown in number.
To protect yourself from spam, you need 2 things:
- Professional Antispam Protection
- Awareness
Professional Antispam Protection
So that Konet can give you ways to protect yourself from malicious and unwanted emails, we offer Professional Antispam Protection services for incoming and outgoing mail.
Thanks to its Artificial Intelligence algorithm, Professional Antispam Protection can filter out and hold back 99.9% of spam. For cases where some spam gets past the filter and reaches the Mailbox, you can train the Artificial Intelligence algorithm by dragging and dropping the unwanted email into the Control Panel we provide, so that the algorithm learns and stops every similar email in the future. Our Knowledge Base has a detailed guide with images and a step-by-step explanation of how to train the algorithm on unwanted mail.
All Konet Semi Dedicated Hosting plans come with built-in Incoming and Outgoing Email Protection. Web Hosting, Reseller Hosting and VPS Hosting plans do not include a Professional Antispam Protection service by default, but their administrators can get one either by submitting a request or through our website konet.gr.
Awareness
On its own, Professional Antispam Protection cannot protect you completely. You also need to be informed, so that you can recognize malicious and unwanted emails and not open or reply to them.
To help you understand the situation better, we at Konet have written related articles on our Blog. In them we tell you about both email scams and phishing link scams.
As a reminder, any email asking you to reset a password, pay money, or click a link or button so that your X account is not closed should be treated as suspected spam, unless within the previous 5 minutes you did something that would explain it (for example, you asked for a password reset yourself).
For any clarification or question about spam, contact Konet so that you can stop before taking the extra step that would lead you into a mistake.
