The Professional Spam Filter feature opens the SpamExperts control panel for your domain, where you centrally manage incoming email filtering, quarantine, logs, allow/block lists, reports and continuity features (delivery queue). Access is a single click from cPanel, with no separate login details.
Access from cPanel
-
Log in to cPanel.
-
Select Professional Spam Filter in the Email section.
-
Click Login next to the domain you want. You will be logged in to SpamExperts for that domain automatically. In many setups, the first login also triggers the initial configuration.
Routing requirements (MX)
For incoming mail to be filtered, the domain's MX records must point to the SpamExperts servers. If necessary, update the MX records according to the control panel instructions and check them with the MX Verification Tool.
Basic navigation in SpamExperts
After logging in you will see vertical menus organized into sections:
-
Incoming: Logs, Spam Quarantine, Destinations, Domain Settings.
-
Reporting: Email Scout Reports.
-
Continuity: Delivery Queue, Compose Email, Network Tools.
The cPanel add-on provides a list of the domains and single-click login to the filtering system of each domain.
Incoming logs and search
Incoming Log Search lets you search and filter all incoming messages for up to 32 days. You can filter by sender, recipient, subject, Message-ID, IP, host, status (delivered, rejected, quarantined, queued) and other criteria for accurate diagnosis.
Spam quarantine
Messages judged to be unwanted are moved to quarantine for manual review. The retention period is 14 days. From the quarantine you can open the message, release it to its destination, train the system with it as not spam, or delete it permanently. Bulk actions are also supported.
Allow and block lists
At domain level you can define lists of allowed (whitelist) and blocked (blacklist) senders or domains, so that filtering is bypassed or enforced respectively. These actions affect delivery for all recipients of the domain.
Destinations and routing
In Incoming > Destinations you define or check the delivery destination after filtering (mail server/route). You can add, remove or reorder routes, and run connection tests to the destination. This is especially useful during migrations or server changes.
Continuity and delivery queue
If the final mail server is temporarily unavailable, SpamExperts queues incoming mail and retries delivery when the server comes back. The queue is also visible at Admin/Domain/Email level, so you can check what is waiting to be delivered. In the Continuity section you will also find the Compose Email page for sending messages and helpful Network Tools.
Email Scout Reports
Email Scout Reports are scheduled reports that send by email the results of specific log searches (e.g. a daily quarantine summary per mailbox or for the whole domain). You can set them to be sent automatically up to three times a day, customize them with your own filters and temporarily enable/disable them.
Filter training
From the Incoming tools you can use train spam or train not spam, so that the system improves its accuracy based on real examples from your domain. Training helps reduce false positives/negatives over time.
Common tasks step by step
Releasing a legitimate message from quarantine
-
Open Incoming > Spam Quarantine, or Logs filtered by Quarantined.
-
Click the message's actions menu and choose Release or Release and train as not spam.
-
Optionally, add the sender to the whitelist.
Finding out why an email did not arrive
-
Open Incoming > Logs and search by sender/recipient/subject.
-
Check the status, the rejection reason, or whether it is in quarantine/the queue.
-
If the final server had a problem, see Continuity > Delivery queue.
Adding a partner to the whitelist
-
Protection/Incoming > Sender whitelist.
-
Add the full address or domain.
-
Save, so that it applies immediately to all recipients.
Optional: outgoing filtering
If your plan includes Outgoing Filtering, you can monitor/filter the outgoing flow to protect the reputation of your IPs and avoid blacklists in case of compromised accounts. It is enabled as an add-on service and comes with corresponding ESR reports.
Best practices
-
Use the Email Scout Report regularly to catch wrongful blocks early and, if needed, release and train.
-
Avoid overly broad whitelist entries (e.g. entire TLDs), as they reduce the effectiveness of filtering.
-
When changing servers, update the Destinations and, where required, the MX records, so that all mail flows through the filter.
Conclusion
Professional Spam Filter through SpamExperts gives you full visibility and control over your incoming mail: from detailed logs and a quarantine with 14-day retention, to automatic reports and a delivery queue when the destination has an outage. Simple access from cPanel and central per-domain settings make it an ideal tool for a secure and uninterrupted email flow.
