The Alpha Bank payment gateway is available again in the Konet.gr Client Area, fully upgraded and with significant improvements.
What changed
For a while, this payment method had been temporarily disabled due to technical upgrade work. After thorough development and testing, the Alpha Bank payment gateway is back in operation with two important additions.
- IRIS Payments integration. You can now complete your payments via IRIS, the instant payment service supported by the Greek banking system. Paying via IRIS is fast, secure and does not require a card. It takes place within the Alpha Bank environment, using the QR Code your banking app gives you.
- Full process automation. The most important improvement is the full automation of the entire process. Right after your payment succeeds, the following happen automatically:
- Completion and confirmation of your order
- Registration, activation or renewal of your service (domain, hosting, etc.)
- An order completion confirmation email
- Issuing of a paid Billing Statement (PreInvoice)
All of the above happen without any manual intervention and without delay. As soon as your payment is confirmed, your service is activated or renewed automatically and you immediately receive all the related emails.
Transaction security
The security of your financial data is an absolute priority. During payment, you are redirected to the secure Alpha Bank environment, where the transaction takes place. Konet does not store, process or have access to any details of your card or bank account. The only information we receive from Alpha Bank is confirmation that the payment succeeded or failed, so that the automated activation process can proceed (or not). This way your financial data stays exclusively with Alpha Bank, at the highest possible level of security.
When to use each payment method
For the best experience, we recommend the following:
- Alpha Bank (card or IRIS). Ideal for one-time payments, such as paying a single Billing Statement, registering a domain or buying a new service.
- Stripe. Ideal for recurring payments. If you want your services to renew automatically without making each payment by hand, Stripe charges your card automatically on the renewal date. Choose the "Recurring Payments" option.
What this means for you
This upgrade completely eliminates waiting times between payment and service activation. You no longer need to wait for manual processing or confirmation of any payment, whatever the amount. Paying and ordering is now one seamless, instant and fully automated experience.
