Announcement of 28/09/2023. The information may have changed.
cPanel price increases began in 2019, after the company was acquired by the investment fund Oakley Capital and WebPros, and continued almost every year. Here you will find our announcements in one place, what changed each time in cPanel licenses and what it meant for Konet's prices. Current plan prices always apply as shown on the Web Hosting page.
2019, the change of the pricing model
Until 2019 cPanel licenses had a fixed price per server, about $20 per month for a VPS and $45 per month for a dedicated server, with no limit on accounts. In June 2019 cPanel switched, without warning its partners, to per-account pricing.
- Up to 5 accounts, $20 per month.
- Up to 30 accounts, $30 per month.
- Up to 100 accounts, $45 per month, plus $0.20 per month for each additional account.
For a server with 3,000 accounts the cost rose from $45 to $645 per month. Konet always hosted far fewer accounts per server, but the increase in monthly cost was large, and in August 2019 we announced an adjustment to the prices of our web hosting plans. We looked at alternative control panels, such as Plesk and DirectAdmin, and concluded that none matched cPanel in features, documentation and support.

2024, a new increase from 01/01/2024
In September 2023 cPanel announced a new increase in its licenses, applied to new orders from 16/12/2023 and to existing licenses from 01/01/2024. It was the smallest of the increases so far.

In its announcement of 28/09/2023 Konet wrote that, if cPanel's prices did not rise further, it would not change the prices of its existing plans, and that only the prices of new Solo license purchases for VPS would be adjusted. In the same period cPanel also announced its integrated site builder, Sitejet Builder, which became available in cPanel in January 2024.
Why Konet stays with cPanel
In stability, security, automation, documentation and support, cPanel remains the most complete control panel for web hosting. That is why, despite the increases, all Konet plans continue to include cPanel.
