As we go through the holiday season, Konet wishes you:
Merry Christmas! Season's Greetings! A happy and blessed New Year in good health!!!
Every year, during the holiday season, businesses and consumers tend to buy more. Fraudsters know this, so they step up their attempts to mislead and deceive.
So this year, once again, we saw a rise in the flow of malicious emails aimed at deceiving their recipients. In fact, this year we saw a larger volume of phishing emails posing as banks' notification emails than in the past.
With the sales season opening soon, we would like to draw your attention to how to deal with malicious emails. Although we have covered the subject several times in the past, it is useful to remember what we do and what we do not do.
General Rules for Using Email Safely
- We do not click on any link in emails. Only click if you are absolutely sure that the link does not lead to malicious websites or software.
- A spam message reaching your email (mailbox) causes you no problem at all. The problem starts the moment you click on any link in the email, download the malicious software it may contain, or reply to it. So do none of these things.
- If you have an AntiSpam filter for incoming mail and still receive a malicious email, we recommend that you log in to your AntiSpam Control Panel through your cPanel account and train the AntiSpam filter to reject similar emails in the future. If you do not know how to do this, see the article in our Knowledge Base titled SpamExperts Train Spam – Training the filter on unwanted mail.
- No one will ever ask you for your passwords or ask you to confirm them. If an email asks you to do this, it means it was sent with bad intentions.
- If you are in doubt about an email, you can call us and we will help you. It is better to have an expert check whether it is spam or not than to take a risk by clicking on a link you are not sure about.
If you have the slightest question on the subject, whether you are our customer or not, call us on 2310 501800 and we will help you understand it better. One of our technicians will be able to explain what you need in plain words in very little time.
Kind regards,
Konet
