For a bulk transfer of .gr domains, you send us a file with each domain and its Authorization Code, and we transfer them all together. Changing Registrar is free. None of the domains' details change, not even the nameservers, and there is no downtime for your websites or email.
Why it cannot be done with a single request
The .gr Registry does not provide for a bulk Registrar change. Each domain needs its own Authorization Code (EPP code), a code that proves the registrant agrees to the transfer. The process described below is the simplest way to collect all the codes and carry out the transfer in bulk.
What you need before you start
- Access to your current Registrar's control panel
- An email address that you control and read regularly
- An account in our Client Area at billing.konet.gr
- A file (xlsx, csv, txt or a plain email) with the list of your domains
Steps
- At your current Registrar, update the email on all domains so that it is an address you control. The Registry's messages will be sent there.
- Send us the list of domains with a support request.
- We submit an Authorization Code Request for each domain. You can also do this yourself at any time from the Client Area, on the Transfer Domain page. It works both for domains registered with us and for domains with other Registrars.
- Open the email you receive from the Registry for each domain. It contains a link for generating the Authorization Code.
- Click the link within 6 hours of receiving the email and generate the code.
- Enter the code in the file, next to the corresponding domain.
- Send us the completed file with a support request. Once each code is generated, we have 2 weeks to complete the transfer, so there is no need to rush.
- We promptly transfer all the domains in the file.
If you have many domains, we can transfer them either all together in one day or in groups, for example of 50 domains or whatever size suits you. This gives you time to generate the codes for each group comfortably.
In general, though, the number of domains should not concern you, as we can successfully transfer as many as you have in very little time.
Auto renewal after the transfer
If you do not want the transferred domains to renew automatically, let us know in the same request and they will all be registered without auto renewal. You can change this later for each domain individually from the Client Area.
How you will know it is done
For each domain you receive a notification from both us and the Registry that the Registrar change has been completed. The domains appear in your Client Area account, in your list of domains, where you now have full control over them.
Frequently Asked Questions
The transfer failed because of a wrong code.
This is usually caused by a space before or after the code when pasting it. Check the code in the file. If needed, request a new Authorization Code and repeat the transfer.
The 6 hours have passed and the link does not work.
Request the code again for that domain from the Transfer Domain page, or let us know and we will do it for you.
The Registry's email did not arrive.
Check your spam folder. If it is not there either, check at your current Registrar that the domain's email is the one you expect.
More than 2 weeks have passed since the code was generated.
The code is no longer valid for the transfer. Request a new one and send us the updated code.
