A registrant name change (Owner Name Change) on a .gr domain is used when the same owner changes their name or company name. In this article you will learn when it is needed (company renaming, marriage, merger), which document is required (Government Gazette/gov.gr), and how to submit a request from your account.
When a name change is needed for a .gr domain
An Owner Name Change is used when the same owner changes their name or company name. The owner does not change; only their name does. Examples:
- Company renaming (e.g. KONET LTD → KONET SA)
- Surname change due to marriage or divorce
- Company merger
- Correction of a spelling mistake in the name
If the owner changes (a different person/company), use "Owner Transfer" instead.
Required Document
1 digital certificate in PDF format is required (maximum 10MB):
- Government Gazette (FEK) of the renaming, merger deed, civil registry certificate or other supporting legal document in accordance with the EETT (Hellenic Telecommunications & Post Commission) regulation
- Preferably also a digital certificate via gov.gr
Procedure
- Log in to your account
- Go to the domain management page
- Click "Owner Name Change"
- Enter the new company name and/or the new full name
- Upload the certificate (PDF)
- Describe the reason for the change in the justification field
- Click "Submit"
The flow after submission is the same as for an Owner Transfer (invoice > payment > review > execution).
