What is Two-Factor Authentication in cPanel
Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) is a security feature that adds an extra layer of protection to your cPanel account.
Even if someone knows your username and password, they cannot log in without the unique verification code generated at that moment on your phone.
The feature is based on the TOTP (Time-based One-Time Password) standard, which is used by apps such as Google Authenticator, Authy or Microsoft Authenticator.
Why Two-Factor Authentication matters
2FA drastically reduces the risk of unauthorized access to your account.
Even if your password is compromised, an attacker will not be able to log in without the temporary verification number.
It is a measure we recommend to all Konet customers for maximum security.
2FA does not replace your password, so your first line of defence is still a strong password.
For your Client Area account, see the guide two-factor authentication in the Client Area.
How to enable Two-Factor Authentication in cPanel

Log in to cPanel.
