How to pay by bank transfer so the payment is credited correctly

Deposit exactly the amount of the Billing Statement into one of the accounts on the Payment Methods page, with the bank charges paid by the sender, and write the Billing Statement number in the payment reference. Then send us the deposit receipt by ticket or to financial@konet.gr. We record bank deposits manually, so with the right reference and the receipt your payment is matched quickly and the service is activated or renewed without delay.

Where do I find the bank accounts?

The accounts that accept deposits, with their IBANs and beneficiary details, are on the Payment Methods page of konet.gr. You also find them in the email we send you with every Billing Statement, and on the Billing Statement itself in the Client Area when you choose Bank Transfer as the payment method.

Always take the details from these places. If you receive an email asking you to deposit into a different account, do not pay and contact us.

What you need before making the deposit

  • Access to the Client Area
  • An open Billing Statement for the service you are paying, with its number and amount
  • Correct billing details on your account, because the tax document is issued with them. See how to change your billing details.

If you are paying a domain renewal and have not received a Billing Statement, Auto Renew is most likely off. First place a renewal order from the Client Area so that a Billing Statement is issued. The logic is explained in the article on domain renewals and Auto Renew.

Steps

  1. Log in to the Client Area.
  2. Open Billing > Billing Statements.
  3. Open the Billing Statement with status Unpaid that you want to pay.
  4. Note its number and the total amount.
  5. Under Payment Method choose Bank Transfer.
  6. Make the deposit or transfer at your bank, into one of the accounts on the Payment Methods page.
  7. Write the Billing Statement number in the payment reference.
  8. Send us the deposit receipt.

How much do I deposit and who pays the charges?

Exactly the amount of the Billing Statement must reach our account, net, without charges or deductions. In web banking, when you are asked who bears the charges (sender, beneficiary or shared), choose Sender.

If a smaller amount arrives, the Billing Statement remains partly unpaid and the activation or renewal does not proceed until the difference is covered.

What do I write in the payment reference?

Write the Billing Statement number. If you don't have it to hand, write the domain the service is for. If the bank has a separate field for the depositor's name, also fill in the name or company name of your account.

A deposit with no reference and no depositor name reaches us as a bare amount. We cannot tell which customer it belongs to and it waits until we identify it. This is the most common reason a payment seems to have "gone missing". The cost of tracing a deposit without a proper reference is borne by the depositor, as set out in the Terms of Use.

Where do I send the deposit receipt?

Send the receipt in one of the following ways:

In the message, write the Billing Statement number and which service or domain it is for. If you are paying several Billing Statements with one deposit, write all their numbers.

When will my service be renewed?

A bank deposit is not instant. We record the payment once the amount has been credited to our account and we have checked which Billing Statement it matches. The Billing Statement then changes to Paid and the activation or renewal runs.

Don't leave the deposit for the expiry date. If hosting expires with an unpaid Billing Statement, you have a 14-day grace period for payment only, during which the service may be restricted. After that it is suspended and its data is deleted. If a domain expires, its site and email stop, as we explain in the article on what happens when a domain expires. When you are in a hurry, pay by card, Google Pay or Apple Pay, which settle the Billing Statement as soon as the transaction completes. IRIS payments are confirmed manually and can take up to one working day.

When will I receive the invoice?

The Billing Statement is not a tax document. The invoice or receipt is issued after payment and sent to you electronically, through the e-invoicing provider we use. If you can't find it, request a copy with a support ticket.

I am paying against my balance or I deposited more

If you already have available credit on your account, it is applied to the Billing Statement and covers as much as it can. You deposit only the difference shown as unpaid on the Billing Statement.

If you deposit an amount without a specific Billing Statement, "against balance", or more than was needed, tell us in the ticket what you want done. The surplus can stay as credit on your account for the next renewal, registration or transfer, or be returned to the bank account the deposit came from. Once an amount has been added as credit, it is not refunded, as explained in the article on account credits.

You can see your available balance in the Client Area. If you need a detailed statement of transactions, for example for your accountant, request it with a support ticket.

Frequently Asked Questions

I made the deposit, why does the Billing Statement still show as unpaid?
Recording is done manually, so it takes a little time. If you didn't write a reference or didn't send us the receipt, send it now, together with the Billing Statement number.

Why does the Billing Statement show a small unpaid amount after payment?
Most likely the bank deducted charges from the amount. Deposit the difference, this time with charges paid by the sender.

What do I enter when web banking asks for a "payment code"?
The code you need is the Billing Statement number, and you write it in the payment reference. If your bank does not complete the transaction, pay into another bank on the list or by card.

How do I pay a domain renewal if I don't have a Billing Statement?
Place a renewal order from the Client Area and pay the Billing Statement that is issued. A deposit without an order does not renew a domain on its own.
